Delivering smart access control at WOMAD

We were delighted to return to WOMAD, once again providing a smart access control system for all visitors at the 40,000 capacity sold-out festival.

All attendees were scanned in and out of the site, providing the organisers with an accurate real-time count of numbers on-site, preventing pass-backs and eliminating ticket fraud.

We also delivered the teenager registration system, a safety feature which enabled teenagers’ wristbands to be electronically encoded with the contact details of their parents or guardians.

The festival used barcode wristbands supplied by ID&C.

The Wiltshire festival, which ended in the early hours of Monday morning, attracted a capacity crowd for the first time since relocating from Reading in 2007.

There were 184 performances by 106 artists from 42 countries.

Womad director Chris Smith attributed the sellout to “the excellent weather and a strong line-up”.
